It all begins with an initial consultation. At this point, Heidi will listen as you describe your photo preferences and respond with recommendations for location, clothing and props to match.
Each shoot is customized towards your preferences and desires.
Individual inclinations about clothing, nudity, style and location dictate the direction of the shoot. During your session Heidi will guide poses and experiment with favorable lighting and background settings. After the session, Heidi will assist you in creating art that compliments your goals, style, decor, and budget. From beginning to end, it's all about you.
Photographing pregnancy is an intimate experience. You need to trust your photographer to nurture and capture your most radiant glow. Heidi will put you at ease with the entire process by creating a warm, relaxed and professional atmosphere.
About the photographer
Heidi received a BFA in Fine Arts Photography from The Center for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan. She worked in the industry for Getty Images in Seattle and Chicago before launching HJB Photo. Heidi has worked on several photography projects in East Africa where her work is helping to prevent violence against women and children. She published a photographic children's book in 2008 and her work has appeared in Oprah's "O" magazine amongst many other publications.
Heidi strives to translate the intimacy and beauty of a pregnancy and growing family into unique and artistic photographs.
Her diverse range of photographic experiences informs her style and her compositions. In July of 2011, Heidi launched this website, HJB maternity and newborn photography, to showcase only maternity and newborn photography. Heidi's other portrait photography can be seen at www.hjbphoto.com.
